In Diyarbakır, a meeting was hosted where Rifat Hisarcıkloğlu and the general managers of Vakıfbank, Ziraat Bankası, and Halkbank gathered. They discussed the impact of the Central Bank’s one‑week repo auction on loan rates.

Hisarcıkloğlu stated that the banking sector should quickly reflect a three‑point reduction in commercial loan rates, noting that the Central Bank had restarted market funding at a 37 % interest rate at the beginning of the week, with rates falling by three points. He added that the general managers had responded positively to the business community’s demand for the discount to be reflected.

Vakıfbank’s general manager, Osman Aralan, said that starting from Monday, the bank would immediately lower all interest rates by two to three points. This move signals an impending new interest level for commercial loans.
